Free-standing Scanner

The ZScanner is a handheld laser scanner that can be used by many industries. Since it is free standing—which means it needs no external devices to track its position in reference to the object or part—engineers have more flexibility or freedom to scan any part, even in places where regular CMMs or arms cannot go or reach. Traditional CMMs are bulky, static, massive slabs of stone and iron, and measuring arms require the use of unwieldy tripods. The ZScanner is a light handheld scanner weighing just over 2 lb.
